The event was held in the rural complex Viña Castilla de Ferro (Granada) which was attended by more than 300 people linked to agriculture in Granada and Almeria.
It was a very pleasant moment of conviviality held in the garden of the restaurant in which they enjoyed a closeness between farmers, the seedlings and seed companies.
In the area of Castell de Ferro cucumber is grown mainly in its Dutch or Almeria type and CapGen Seeds was promoting its varieties of cucumber Almeria Chencho and Pancho.
These varieties offer attractive dark green fruits and have an average length of 30 centimeters. Both have a good resistance package.
Chencho cucumber is recommended for early fall cycles and spring crops. On the other hand, Pancho can be used to cover medium sowings in the fall cycle.
And although most of the farmers in the area were cucumber growers, there were also some bell pepper and tomato growers in attendance. The main types of tomatoes they were growing were cherry tomatoes and oval tomatoes.
CapGen Seeds also promoted the oval tomato variety Obelix that is giving so much joy. It arrived at the end of September last year at Castell de Ferro, where it adapted very well and yielded an excellent load of large caliber tomatoes.
The growers assured during the event that this year they will repeat with Obelix because of how well it has gone.
The variety stands out for its high production and great uniformity in the upper and lower part of the plant, weighing an average of 180 grams per fruit.
During the evening the Plantel Semilleros thanked the growers for their confidence in their products and also thanked the seed producers for their good relationship with the seed company. From CapGen Seeds we thank Manuel Escudero, general manager of Plantel Semilleros for the invitation to the event and for working together with us.
